We’ll be waiting to warmly greet you at Kasane International Airport as you arrive, ready to kick off your unforgettable journey in Botswana.

After picking up your rental 4×4, we’ll head to our beautiful campsite situated on the serene banks of the Chobe River, where stunning views await.

We’ll embark on a breathtaking sunset boat cruise into Chobe National Park. Picture the golden hues reflecting on the water as we glide past elephants and other wildlife coming to the river’s edge – a truly magical experience!

Back at the lodge, your guide will gather everyone to discuss the exciting adventures that lie ahead over the next two weeks. Together, we’ll map out your incredible journey of this 4×4 offroad safari in Botswana, setting the stage for unforgettable memories and experiences.

Day 2 | Kasane – Old Hunters Road

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll rise with excitement as we complete our final vehicle and radio checks, ready to embark on our off-road adventure from Kasane.

Our journey begins as we head south towards Lesoma, where the thrill of the road truly starts. Here, we’ll transition from the smooth tarred roads to the legendary Old Hunters Road – a historic route that traces the Botswana-Zimbabwe border, stretching from Kasane in the north all the way to Nata in the south. This off-road track meanders through private concessions, lush forest reserves, and vibrant tribal trust lands, immersing us in the wild beauty of Botswana.

As we navigate this rugged terrain, every twist and turn will reveal breathtaking landscapes and the promise of adventure. Depending on the road conditions, we may find ourselves camping under a blanket of stars in the heart of the wilderness or settling in at a designated campsite.

We’ll kick off our adventure with a stop in Nata to refuel and gather supplies, excitement bubbling as we prepare to leave the tarmac behind. From there, we’ll embark on an exhilarating journey into the Makgadikgadi Pans, where vast, shimmering landscapes stretch as far as the eye can see.

Our destination is the remarkable Kubu Island, a stunning granite outcrop rising majestically from the flat expanse of Sua Pan. Here, we’ll wander among the ancient, twisted baobabs and unique rock formations, marvelling at the resilience of nature in this surreal environment.

As the sun begins to set, the sky will explode in a riot of colours, creating a breathtaking backdrop against the endless pans, a moment to cherish. Our adventure doesn’t end there; we’ll continue across the open flats and pans towards Nxai Pan, setting the stage for more incredible experiences.

The following day will lead us to the Boteti River, where more surprises await.

Today, our 4×4 offroad safari in Botswana takes us to Maun, the vibrant safari town that serves as the gateway to incredible adventures. Here, you’ll have the chance to restock supplies and refuel both your vehicle and your spirit in this bustling hub of exploration.

In the afternoon, an optional scenic flight over the breathtaking Okavango Delta awaits – a truly magical experience! Soaring above this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you’ll witness the intricate tapestry of lagoons, islands, and waterways, teeming with wildlife and framed by stunning landscapes.

As the day winds down, we’ll gather for dinner at a local restaurant (own expense), where you can indulge in the rich flavours of Botswana’s cuisine.

After a delicious breakfast, you’ll embark on an exhilarating journey to the Moremi Game Reserve, celebrated as one of southern Africa’s premier safari destinations. Over the next two days, we’ll immerse ourselves in its breathtaking diversity, exploring lush riverine forests, expansive mopane woodlands, sweeping grasslands, and shimmering floodplains.

The Moremi is a wildlife enthusiast’s paradise, where herds of elephants and buffalo roam freely, and the chances of spotting elusive leopards, majestic lions, and spirited African wild dogs are very high.

With your guide’s keen observation skills and deep knowledge of the bush, you’ll discover fascinating details about the flora and fauna that might otherwise go unnoticed. As the afternoon sun begins to dip, you’ll arrive at your camp, where you can settle in and prepare for a night under the stars, surrounded by the enchanting sounds of the Botswana bush.

This morning, we’ll indulge in a leisurely breakfast, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere before setting off to explore the breathtaking edges of the floodplains and the winding Khwai River.

Our journey will take us towards North Gate, into the wildlife-rich Khwai Region, a haven for nature lovers. As we make our way to our camp, nestled beneath the lush riverine Mopane trees along the banks of the Mbudi Channel, you’ll feel the excitement building for the adventures that await.

Over the next two days, we’ll embark on exhilarating game drives through the Khwai area, where the thrill of encountering wildlife in their natural habitat will be at our fingertips.

In addition, you’ll have the chance to experience a serene mokoro ride, guided by a skilled local poler. Gliding quietly through the waters, you’ll connect deeply with the stunning landscapes and wildlife around you.

In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive at our camp, beautifully situated along the banks of the Savuti Channel.

By now, you’ve likely embraced the beauty of early mornings on our 4×4 offroad safari in Botswana and today promises to be another unforgettable adventure.

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off through the northern Savuti, navigating the lush Chobe Forest Reserve and skirting the stunning edges of the Chobe Floodplains. Keep your eyes peeled for the rich tapestry of wildlife that calls this region home!

We’ll pause for a delightful picnic lunch beneath the shade of a tree. After recharging, we’ll venture into Chobe National Park, following the majestic Chobe River.

Renowned for its incredibly high density of elephants, this park offers breathtaking views as herds of these gentle giants grace the riverfront. As the day winds down, we’ll arrive at our final campsite, perfectly positioned along the banks of the Chobe River.

After an early morning breakfast, we’ll gather our belongings for the final pack-up of our vehicles, the excitement of the journey ahead still buzzing in the air. Our route ends in Kasane, where we’ll drop off our trusty vehicles, reflecting on the incredible experiences we’ve shared.

From there, we’ll transfer to Kasane International Airport for your flight home. As you board your plane, take a moment to cherish the memories of breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable wildlife.
